Case Study 2

C, a 91 year old gentleman suffering from Parkinson’s,  was referred by his daughter who was concerned that he was socially isolated. She worked fulltime based in the South.

M was matched with C, as his daughter felt that he would benefit more from having a male Buddy. M initially met with both C and his daughter and made arrangements for weekly visits.

C enjoyed being able to leave the house and M took him to our Coffee and Company group at the Civic Hall in Nantwich. C found the group a little overwhelming and too noisy! M ensured that the following week, he took C to a quieter location in Nantwich for a coffee; C really enjoyed this.

M introduced C to a neuro yoga class at one of the nearby villages. The class is run by physios and has greatly helped C, both physically and socially.

M daughter contacted us and stated, The value Dad gets out of having M is tremendous and it is more of a trusting relationship and flexibility and the fact that you have matched the person to the buddy.

M continues to visit C weekly.
