This month and next, the Nantwich Buddies are giving back to our members (and volunteers around the world!) by hosting a Virtual Volunteer Expo. The Expo will provide a range of LIVE and online workshops that all volunteers can attend in the comfort of their own homes.
Liz Parkin founder of the Buddies wanted to give something back to the volunteers in the way of training, upskilling and enjoyment, not only for the Buddies but for anyone who volunteers in the community.
There is a diverse mix of talented and caring commercial and charitable organisations in our network so we have invited them to host an interactive and interesting workshop as part of #VolExpo20
The FREE #VolExpo20 kicks off at 7.30pm tonight (Monday 21 Sept) and continues tomorrow evening with three different topics each day:
First up we'll be hosting a LIVE workshop with Merryn Myatt from Perris-Myatt Training at 7:45pm on how to Get the best from Zoom: a short presentation with hints and tips to help the novice and experienced Zoomer present themselves well in a virtual world.
8.00pm - Introduction to British Sign Language with Jo Grubb from JG Creative: An interactive, live session where Jo will teach us some basic sign language to help us communicate more effectively with clients with hearing impairment.
We finish off the session by inviting you to listen to our mindfulness audio by Nigel Keegan from Right Minds Clinical Hypnotherapy who will help to put you into a nice state of relaxation before bed.
Starts with Ben Selby from Right at Home South Cheshire and Creating Dementia Friendly Nantwich, hosting an interactive workshop to help volunteers learn how best to spot, assist people with dementia.
Jan Ferguson, a Humanist Celebrant gives us some hints and tips on how to listen more effectively.
Sign up to our Virtual Volunteer Expo on Eventbrite to secure your place, we'd love to see you there!
Text your email to 07886 633 370 if you would like the Zoom invite sending through for tonight.
